650, it'll pair well with the t120r engine I bought for $75 4 years ago. That must have been a wild balancing ride. 500 or 650?
That's pretty badass you got it home like that dude.. great score on the engine and frame; I've been wanting to build an old triumph for a long time but everything old triumph is so expensive where I'm at.650, it'll pair well with the t120r engine I bought for $75 4 years ago.
Balance was fine, the issue was with the weight out to the sides the bike didn't want to lean, so turns were a little wonky.
They aren't cheap around here either. I just got lucky. I'd been looking for a frame since I found the engine. Found the engine on offerup, which isn't used much in my area. Just an old guy that was tired of having it in his storage unit after 30+ years. That's pretty badass you got it home like that dude.. great score on the engine and frame; I've been wanting to build an old triumph for a long time but everything old triumph is so expensive where I'm at.
Hope that works out for you. I was going through rears on the GL1800 way too fast until I took it to the dark side. Too bad they don't make a car tire to fit the 1000.new rear tire for the GL1000 getting tired of changing it almost every season so I went pricier for a dual compound that should last 2+. Yep, it should be better than the 10-12k miles I get out of the shinkos. They are great but burn centers off fast when you do freeway rides to get between twisties.Hope that works out for you.
